Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-30

Version 1, effective 2026-10-30.

Who we are and what these terms cover

YourHourly is run by Gerald Ong, doing business as Mind Your Own, 7038 Kerr St, Vancouver, BC, Canada ("YourHourly", "we", "us"). These terms cover the YourHourly website: the Clock, the hourly pay converter, the take-home pay calculator and the contact form.

Our Privacy Policy and our Cookies and ads notice are part of these terms. By using YourHourly you agree to all of them.

The short version

This summary helps you scan. The full text below is what counts.

  • The website costs you nothing to use. Ads pay for it.
  • Your hours stay in your browser. We never see them, and we can't bring them back if they're cleared.
  • Pay and tax numbers are estimates, not advice. Check them before you rely on them.
  • Don't misuse the website.

Who can use YourHourly

You must be at least 13 to use YourHourly in the US and Canada, and at least 16 in the EEA and the UK. You can't use YourHourly if sanctions or export laws bar you from it.

YourHourly is for keeping your own work records, as an employee, a contractor or a small business.

How the website works

The Clock. The hours, jobs, notes and rates you enter in the Clock are kept in your browser's own storage on your device and are never sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data, or closing a private window, deletes them. We can't see, restore or recover them, and another browser or device won't have them.

The calculators. The hourly pay converter and the take-home pay calculator work in the page. We don't save the numbers you type.

You're responsible for keeping your device secure, and for keeping your own copy of any hours you need.

Acceptable use

Use YourHourly lawfully. Don't:

  • try to get into data that isn't yours, or disrupt, overload or attack the website;
  • upload malware, scrape the website, or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows;
  • click ads on purpose, or tamper with how ads load or are counted;
  • use the contact form to send spam, or pretend to be another business or person when you write to us.

We may block access that breaks these rules.

Your content and our licence

You own what you put into YourHourly: your hours, jobs, rates and notes. They stay in your browser and never reach us, so we don't claim any rights to them.

If you write to us through the contact form or by email, you let us read, keep and answer your message.

Calculators and pay estimates are not advice

The hourly pay converter, the take-home pay calculator, and the pay, overtime and holiday pay the Clock shows are estimates. They use simplified rules and published tax tables for the year and place shown. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date.

They are not tax advice, and not legal, accounting, financial or employment advice. Check with the CRA, the IRS or your state tax agency, your employer, or a professional before you rely on them. We aren't responsible for decisions you make based on them.

Advertising

The website shows ads from Google AdSense. Ads are personalized only where you've agreed or the law allows it; see Cookies and ads. We don't endorse the advertisers.

Changes to features

We may add, change or remove features at any time. We don't promise any feature that isn't on the website today, or a date for one.

Your data stays with you

Your hours never leave your browser, so we have nothing to send you and nothing to delete. To keep a copy, note down or save what you need before you clear anything. To delete your hours, clear this site's data in your browser.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using YourHourly at any time.

We may block someone's access to the website for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, fraud, or legal risk.

Sections that by their nature should last after you stop using YourHourly will last, including disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law.

Our property

We own YourHourly: the website, the brand, the Clock and the calculators. These terms don't give you any rights to them except to use the service. If you send us ideas or feedback, we can use them freely.

Disclaimers

YourHourly is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running and correct, but we don't promise it will always be available, without errors, or right for payroll, tax filing or any legal use. Keep your own records.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law where you live, including Quebec, Ontario and other Canadian provinces, and US states.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss. That includes lost wages or profits, tax penalties, and hours lost from your browser's storage.

Our total liability for all claims is limited to $100.

These limits don't apply where the law doesn't allow them, such as for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury we cause, or where consumer law (for example in Quebec) says otherwise.

Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of your breach of these terms or your misuse of YourHourly, you'll cover our reasonable costs of that claim. If you're a consumer, this applies only as far as your local consumer law allows.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Disputes go to the courts of Vancouver, British Columbia. You can also use a small claims court where you qualify.

If you're a consumer, you keep any right your local law gives you to bring a claim where you live, and the protections of your local law. Please contact us first; most problems can be fixed by email.

Changes to these terms

We'll post any update here with a new date. For a change that matters, we'll post a notice on the website at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using YourHourly after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can stop using the website.

General

These terms (with the documents they name) are the whole agreement between us about YourHourly. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part right away doesn't mean we give it up. We may transfer these terms if the business is sold or reorganized; you can't transfer them without our written consent. We aren't responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control. These terms are written in English; if we publish a translation (for example in French for Quebec), the law decides which version controls.
